Peak season
April through June is the active core, with a secondary peak in October for some states. Most events occur in late afternoon and evening, which gives more lead time than the nocturnal events common in Dixie Alley.

- Dixie Alley covers the Southeast (Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, parts of Georgia). Events there are often nocturnal and embedded in larger storm systems, which shifts the shelter case toward in-home options.
