Why a single deadbolt fails
Under a 250 mph wind passing the shelter, the door experiences both impact load and a pressure differential that tries to peel it outward at the unlatched corners. A single midpoint deadbolt leaves the head and sill free to deflect; three-point latching restrains all four edges.
